THAT'S WHAT WE DID!
It all started when we were young, impressionable and all of 6 years old. At that time all we wanted to do for fun was BAKE. While it could be the influence of our mothers and their baking prowess, we’d like to believe that we were destined to this.
Honestly, Bake-a-Diem is so much more than a dessert making company for us. INNER-BEAUTY MATH
One thing we follow- is the value of creating something classic, that remains relevant for anyone, at any point of time. Thus, we went on to focus more on flavour. We called it the ‘inner beauty math’! As it turned out, with an enhanced flavour, the cakes even looked prettier.
HOME-MADE
The second value that we strongly believe in, is to make our bakes as ‘homemade’ as possible. Every little thing that can be made at home, even if tedious- is made by our own hands. We can proudly say that every element of each of our bakes has an extra pinch of love.
When the two of us decided to start doing this, we had our fantasies of having our cutlery a certain way, our containers to be a certain kind, our utensils to be in sync with our theme. However, we found so many empty containers and usable utensils in our house that giving up on our fantasies and not giving in to consumerism seemed the best thing to do.
All these values could easily be ignored while ‘rationally’ running a business. But these are the things that make us who we are. To say that Bake-a-Diem is just something professional would be incorrect since it involves so much of our personal lives. It has seen days when our entire house became a factory with every family member working to complete an order. (And mind you, we have a huge family living in one house). It has seen us struggling with numbers since we both suck at it. It has seen friends coming over just to make sure we don’t end up going crazy while completing our work. It has seen genuinely happy eaters who have come back for more. To connect individually, a personalised card goes out with each bake to make someone smile. So much so, that our customers are not called customers or clients, but eaters.
With Bake-a-Diem, we have not just explored our passion but have taken it to new heights by experimenting a ton with it. It is a venture that has had us exploring something old (baking) with something new (also baking)!
